Brother MFC-J1410DW Colour Inkjet All-in-One — Auto Duplex & Cloud Touchscreen, $119.99 CAD (48% Off)

Amazon.ca has the Brother Work Smart MFC-J1410DW wireless colour inkjet all-in-one for $119.99 CAD (list $229.99, 48% off). Prime members ship free; otherwise free shipping on orders over $35.

Print, copy, scan and fax in one box. 16 ppm black and 9 ppm colour is quick for an inkjet. Automatic duplex is standard, the 20-sheet single-sided ADF means multi-page contracts don't need hand-feeding, and the 150-sheet tray keeps a home office running for a week without refills.

The 2.7" colour touchscreen connects straight to Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive and Box, so scans land in the cloud without a stop on your desktop. Brother Mobile Connect handles printing from a phone, and it takes Wi-Fi or USB.

Straight talk: 4.0 stars across 323 reviews is middling, and the complaints cluster in two places. Setup demands driver downloads and gets fiddly if you're connecting both a desktop and a laptop — a few people spent hours on it, though it's fine afterwards. And the inbox cartridges are light; one buyer found yellow empty on the test page and had to order more.

Stick with Brother's genuine LC501 carts. Third-party ink is cheaper, but clogged heads are on you. At 7.6 kg it tucks into a desk corner. This is a home-office machine for people who print and scan regularly — skip it if you need photo-grade colour.
