Amazon.ca currently has the SHOKZ OpenRun Pro 2 Mini bone conduction sport headphones in black for $249.95 CAD. Prime members ship free; otherwise free shipping on orders over $35.
This one isn't discounted — it sits at $249.95 pretty much year-round — but it's the open-ear pair most worth a serious look, so it gets its own write-up.
The practical benefit of open-ear isn't sound quality, it's safety. Sealed earbuds cut you off from traffic, bike bells and anyone coming up behind you, which gets genuinely risky on a Canadian winter run when you're layered up with a hat over your ears. The OpenRun Pro 2 hooks over your ears: music comes through, the street comes through, and SHOKZ's leak-free tuning keeps what you're listening to out of everyone else's ears.

The big change from the previous generation is the dual-driver setup: a bone conduction driver handles clarity up top, and a new air conduction driver fills in the low end. Weak bass is the classic open-ear complaint, and this generation largely fixes it — several reviewers specifically call out more bass than they expected. EQ modes in the Shokz App include a pure bone-conduction Classic mode and a Volume Boost for noisy environments.
Calls run through dual wind-resistant mics with an AI noise reduction algorithm that SHOKZ rates at filtering 96.5% of background noise, including wind up to 15 mph. People can actually hear you while you're cycling or running, which is not a given on outdoor headsets.
The whole thing weighs 30 g, and the unibody frame hides a Ni-Ti memory wire so it stays put without clamping. IP55 sweat and splash resistance, 12 hours of battery — enough for a marathon and then some. Bluetooth 5.3, 10 m range.

On the Mini size: this is the small version, meant for smaller heads. SHOKZ's measuring method is a tape from behind your left ear around the back of your head to your right ear — 9.25 inches (about 23.5 cm) or more means the standard size, under that means the Mini. If you're unsure, SHOKZ recommends starting with the Mini. 4.4 stars across 13,000-plus reviews, ranked #8 in Open-Ear Headphones.
Two honest caveats: it is not noise cancelling, so a subway or a plane will overpower it — that's the cost of the design. And a few owners note that pairing to a TV routes audio to the headphones and mutes the TV itself, which is normal Bluetooth behaviour, not a fault.
If you run, ride or train regularly, this makes more sense than something jammed into your ear canal. No discount here, but it's the kind of thing you end up using every day.
