A phone that slides around while you're following navigation is the worst. This mount gives you three ways to lock it down — a dashboard suction cup, a windshield suction cup, or a vent clip — so you can pick whatever suits your car.

The 2.8-inch suction cup comes with a cleaning kit: wipe the surface, press the cup firmly, then flip the safety lock. The telescopic arm adjusts from 5 to 7.5 inches and rotates for portrait or landscape. The vent clip has a three-level adjustment that fits the horizontal or vertical blades on 99% of vehicles, with soft silicone pads so the blades don't get scratched.
The cradle legs are widened and thickened with a raised bottom lip, which holds heavier phones more securely (fits 4–7 inch phones, up to 0.55 inch deep with a case). The release button sits on the back of the cradle so one thumb can reach it. The manufacturer includes a 36-month replacement warranty.
Two notes: leather dashboards won't hold any suction cup, so mount on the windshield or use the vent clip instead; and the vent clip doesn't work with round, cross, or diagonal vents. At 4.4 stars from 68,000 ratings, it's a long-running accessory.
