Dimaka 29" Cat Scratching Post — Full-Stretch Sisal Pole for Adult Cats! $32.99 CAD (45% Off)

Amazon.ca currently has the Dimaka 29" (74cm) sisal cat scratching post for $32.99 CAD (list price $59.99, 45% off). Free shipping for Prime members; otherwise free over $35.

29 inches is the height that lets an adult cat stretch out completely. Cats hook their front claws in and extend their whole spine when they scratch — too short a post and they go back to the sofa arm. The 2.8" cardboard core is wrapped in natural sisal, the coarse texture cats actually want, and it holds up far better than carpet-covered posts. The 13.8 × 13.8" base is chipboard under plush, weighted low.

A plush ball dangles from the top, which gets cats batting within minutes — several reviews mention theirs went straight to it on day one. The grey fits most interiors, and the same design comes in beige, light brown, dark brown, blue, pink and green.

Assembly is three steps and about four minutes with the included tools, and it splits in the middle for storage.

One caveat: the base is weighted but the post is tall, so a cat launching at full force will rock it. One reviewer keeps theirs braced against the sofa or a wall. If you have two cats competing for it, the 34" version with a 15.7" base is the safer pick.

Over 10,000 reviews at 4.4 stars and third in its category. $32.99 is a rare discount for this type of product, which normally sits near list price.
