LEGO Minecraft Wither Battle 21590 — 494 Pieces, 7 Characters! $54.97 CAD (35% Off)

Amazon.ca has the LEGO Minecraft Wither Battle (21590) for $54.97 CAD (list $84.99, 35% off). Prime members ship free; otherwise free over $35.

494 pieces, ages 8 and up, built around a Nether portal and a wither shrine in the warped forest. The shrine measures about 10 cm tall and 22 cm wide and hides a summonable wither boss with an explosion function — press it and the shrine breaks apart as the wither appears. That gimmick is the part kids come back to after the build is done.

Seven characters in all: a Crimson Warrior, two wither skeletons, a strider, a baby strider, the wither boss, and a magma cube. Accessories include a health potion, a mace, three wither skeleton skulls, a stick holding warped fungus, and a Nether star — kids who play the game will recognise every one of them.

Per piece, $54.97 works out to just over ten cents, which is cheap for a licensed LEGO set. It holds 4.8 stars across 200+ reviews, and the common note from parents is that kids finish it themselves and then merge it with their other Minecraft sets into one scene. The LEGO Builder app's Build Together mode lets several people build sections on separate devices, which helps if you have two kids and one box.

A solid birthday or holiday gift for a Minecraft fan aged 8+.
