Gorilla Grip Patented Bath Tub Mat 89x41cm — The #1 Bathtub Mat with 107K+ Reviews! $26.99 CAD (33% Off)

Amazon.ca has the Gorilla Grip patented bath tub mat in clear, 89 x 41 cm, for $26.99 CAD, down from $40.19 — 33% off. Prime members ship free; otherwise free shipping on orders over $35.

It carries 4.5 stars from 107,489 reviews, ranks first in bathtub mats and 96 in Home overall, with 2,000+ bought last month. For something like this the review volume does more work than any spec line.

Two things do the actual work. The back has hundreds of suction cups on a patented pattern that hold onto a smooth tub floor, and the whole mat is perforated so water drains underneath toward the drain instead of sitting there getting slippery and stale. The top side is a hexagon pattern with a pebble texture — soft underfoot, not the hard plastic grate feel. BPA-free, and at 89 x 41 cm it is longer than most, covering the bulk of a standard tub. Machine washable, hang it over the tub edge to dry.

The caveats are worth repeating because the reviews are blunt about them: nearly every suction cup has to be pressed down or the mat can still shift. That means wetting the tub floor, pressing each cup with your palm, and kneeling beside the tub to do it. It should come up and hang over the edge after each use, then be re-seated next time. If your knees don't do kneeling, that part gets old. There is a mild smell when new that clears within a day. And it only works on smooth, non-textured, non-tiled surfaces — not on newly refinished tubs or shower pans.

For an older parent's bathroom, or if you already feel the tub floor move under you, $27 is a reasonable spend.
